"Go out and say some prayers!" (Moroni 7:26)

Some highlights from the week:
  • We played some pickleball this week with our friend Kyle and it was so much fun!
  • Had a super awesome member lesson this week! They gave us the same ice cream I grew up eating at my friend’s house...yum!
  • TEMPLE!!! We got to go to the temple and it was absolutely amazing! We got to go with our two new converts, Suzie and Clark. It was so special and amazing! I LOVE the temple!
Alright to start off, prayer is the coolest thing ever! This last week we met a new friend named Jimmy! Jimmy is seriously just the coolest! I had been praying sooo much for us to have a new friend come along that would be ready to hear the gospel and then we found Jimmy! He is so so so awesome! Before we were headed to church, Jimmy hadn’t responded to any of our messages and we were scared he wasn’t going to come to church. Before church I was reading Moroni 7 and that’s when I read verse 26. And in my moment of sadness and worry I read the words, “Whatsoever thing ye shall ask the Father in my name, which is good, in faith believing that ye shall receive, behold, it shall be done unto you.” What an amazing promise the Lord gives us here. The moment I read that I immediately got on my knees and said a desperate prayer to Heavenly Father, begging him that Jimmy would respond. Before I had even finished my prayer, I heard a buzz on the table coming from my phone. After my prayer, I looked, and sure enough, Jimmy had responded and said he was going to be able to come to church! It was just amazing!

Later in the week we were doing service and cutting down some branches off of trees. On one of them, this random little piece of tree flew right into my eye! Now I know you’re probably thinking that’s quite pathetic, but it HURT! I was down for the count haha. I couldn’t open that eye and then close it without being in excruciating pain. It was just a real big bummer, my eye just kept on having this really sharp pain! Eventually, I went to the bathroom and was trying to flush whatever it was out of my eye. My eye was completely red and I was frustrated. It had been about 40 minutes of constant pain and I had been dumping water and rubbing all over my eye trying to clear everything out! After another unsuccessful attempt of flushing it out and being quite frustrated, I paused, took a deep breath, and said a prayer. I acknowledged that this maybe was a silly request, but my eye was in some serious pain and if I could get relief, I would be so grateful and go right back to serving! After I said the prayer, I tried flushing out my eye one more time. There was no success haha! And then I had this weird idea to lift up my eye lid and look under. Sure enough, I stared in the mirror, lifted up my eyelid, and right underneath was the little piece of branch that had gone in my eye, after some maneuvering a couple attempts, I was able to get it out! But I was so grateful I had that thought finally pop into my head to look right where I needed to!
It was a great lesson for me to learn that God cares about all the little things! Although on the large scale of things, my eye hurting was quite a small thing, it was painful and irritating to me and God knew that. He loves us perfectly, he knows allllll of the different little things in our life that feel like a branch in our eye!

Now there are many other prayers I have said this week about very important things, and I haven’t received big answers or guidance for those... yet. But I know that all things come in time and exactly how God wants it. I know that God gives us what we NEED, when we need it, and how we need it! It was a great reminder for me this week:)

So everyone, go out and say some prayers! Be earnest, mean it, and then change whatever you need to in order to make your faith stronger! God loves you and hears your prayers! Don’t ever doubt it for one second!

God is good and is ready at all times to help you:)

我希望这周一切过的都好,
司长老
